Everything Can Change Overnight
The Aquarius Full Moon is occurring on Monday, August 19 at 11:25am Pacific Time and can absolutely upset the balance in our lives. But what we perceive as balance—or the state of homeostasis—might not have been serving our best interests to begin with…and therefore it’s not necessarily an “upset” but more of an electrification and reinvigoration.
Sort of like when I got a concussion at Pyramid Club in September 2019:
The sounds of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” blared on the speakers. Fog completely consumed the dancefloor. My friend cracked a joke, I whipped my head back in rhapsodic laughter and then BAM! — the neon lights dimmed inside the seedy goth club in the East Village.
A horridly hard knock—akin to the ding of a golf ball from a hundred yards away—sounded against my occipital bone and rattled the inside of my brain. Stunned and fueled by a wild adrenaline, I twisted my body around to look at my friend. He covered his eye with his hand and bolted out of the club without uttering a word. Right then I knew it was serious. I touched the back of my head and felt warm blood intermixed with my hair follicles.
Every day before this moment, I looked up at the sky and saw either nothing or clusters of hydrogen and helium shining down on us dispassionately. Every day thereafter, I saw the hidden pattern underlying the entire cosmos. I couldn’t unsee it.
The concussion—the result of a freak accident where the back of my head knocked against my friend’s eyebrow ridge—of course came as a shock to the system and rattled me for a few days. But ultimately, it broke me out of a routine I’d latched onto for almost seven years at that point in the Big Apple. It was a Uranian moment that exposed all kinds of stultifying aspects of my life.
It forced me to rethink my whole life—I suddenly realized I had been on auto-pilot, working at a prestigious digital strategy firm that nevertheless steamrolled my idiosyncrasies and circling the bars of Tompkins Square Park every weekend in order to avoid a deeper calling that required thoughtful introspection.
Following months of incremental lifestyle changes, a tree on the East River began attempting to connect with me through some shared primordial language. I dismounted my Citi Bike and entertained the possibility that a portal was opening to a new life. Getting off the bike and trusting my intuition despite having a hundred reasons to continue on with my perfectly normal life was also Uranian moment.
As I continued to follow the confounding but enticing signs, I realized that I was carving my own path without the guidance of any role models. Although it’s more like I was venturing into an open field that didn’t present any limits for the first time in my life. But only I could discover it for myself.
A well-functioning society would like to build as much predictability into the model as possible. Thus we face enormous pressure from the beginning of life to assimilate or to imitate for the sake of social acceptance and cohesion. This is of course necessary in order to uphold the social contract, however, the pressure to conform often causes our unique, stand-out characteristics to atrophy and therefore we eventually require a Uranian shockpoint to set us back on our original mission.
With this in mind, even if this full moon feels completely destabilizing and aggravating, I think that no matter what, in the long run this is really an inflection point or catalyst in your journey towards self-actualization. For instance, if a great relationship falls apart on this full moon, perhaps it was great for the time it was meant to be in your life and now you’re being called to focus on yourself and/or find someone who will facilitate continued growth.
If you respond to the Uranian moment with a sense of gratitude for the new path that’s opening up, then this full moon can be a powerful activation point for you.
Remember that full moons also denote endings, so this could also mark a release or purging of things that no longer resonate with you.
The T-square with Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and Venus may be pulling you in a few different directions regarding finances, creativity, travel, or relationships, however, the Great Awakener, Uranus, can help you alchemize these energies together in a genius way.
You could also use this full moon to engage with a community (online or in-person) or to feed new and novel ideas. Uranus even connects to the intergalactic, so who knows maybe those UFO sightings in California a few days ago are significant!
Let’s not forget that Saturn also rules this full moon, and given its opposition to Venus, I do think many people will be shedding relationships that don’t support the individuation process.
There is also likely to be some political upheaval, as well as demonstrations and marches in support of shared causes.
Ultimately, let life turn upside down if it has to on this Aquarius Full Moon because let’s be real, 2024 hasn’t been stable anyways. Maybe destabilizing the unstable, or exciting what was once stagnant, will bring you to a place of clarity finally.

Despite the (hopefully) uplifting message above, there is still an unpredictability to this full moon which needs to be mitigated. Therefore, I’ve designed the manifestation guide to minimize uncertainty.
