Chiron Conjunct North Node: How Each Sign Can Heal

Chiron, the minor planet representing the wounded healer, is meeting up with the North Node of the Moon, which catapults us towards our destiny, on February 19th. This transit will bring all of us face-to-face with some core wounds, insecurities and vulnerabilities that have held us back from our success. Given the North Node’s involvement, luckily these confrontations with our unhealed selves can break persistent cycles of suffering that have plagued us likely for our whole lives.

In this post, I’ll overview the high-level themes of this transit and will then break down its impact on each zodiac sign.

Back when I wrote about the Astrology of 2024, I immediately knew what the core question of the upcoming year would be: “Can We Heal the Wounds?” I posed this question at all levels of experience, from the individual to society at-large. We’re dealing with, at one altitude, the decline in health of various world leaders (King Charles revealed his cancer diagnosis very close to this Chiron-North Node transit, in line with my prediction last fall that health issues among prominent leaders would be revealed at this time). And at another altitude, we’re dealing with very personal challenges and wounds that sometimes hide away cleverly for years or decades, only to rear their ugly heads at the most vulnerable moments.

But during this stretch of weeks (really the entire month of February), we are actually in a prime position to finally conquer some long-standing wounds. There are a few factors to address when breaking down this transit.

  • Chiron: Chiron is a minor planet which passes between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus. It is depicted by the centaur, whose half-man, half-horse figure represents our connection between the lower primal realms and the upper exalted ones. It also passes between Saturn and Uranus in its orbit depending on whether it is perihelion or aphelion, respectively. Chiron pertains to our deepest wounds but also grants us incredible potency and power when those wounds are surmounted, liberating us from the limitations of Saturn and elevating us to a heightened sense of spirituality.

  • The North Node: The North and South Node of the Moon mark the points where the moon’s orbit crosses with the ecliptic. The South Node is the “tail of the dragon” and represents our past karma and things we need to reflect on and let go of. The North Node, meanwhile, is the “head of the dragon” and plays more of a devouring role, going after what it desires and ultimately propelling us towards our destiny. The South Node is familiar while the North Node is the opportunity that requires some risk-taking behavior and venturing into the unknown.

  • Aries: Aries is the sign where the Chiron-North Node conjunction is occurring. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and a cardinal fire sign. It symbolizes the autonomous self, the impulse to rush forward into something new, the competitive spirit within us, and our drive to be first or lead something.

  • Chiron-North Node conjunction: Anytime Chiron meets the North Node, it allows for profound breakthroughs that propel us forward in our healing journey. These epiphanies are very fateful, and it’s important for us to capitalize on the opportunity to tend to unhealed aspects that had previously been keeping us stuck.

  • Chiron-North Node conjunction in Aries: Okay, so we now we can ascertain the composite meaning. This transit specifically means that we need to first evaluate the extent to which self-negating thoughts or behaviors are present in our lives. We must gauge our perceived level of self-worth and understand how it influences our decision-making. For instance, if you’re pining after an ex, it’s important to consider whether the healed or unhealed part of you is driving that decision. Sometimes, the hurt, traumatized part of us seeks to feed on situations that perpetuate the suffering we originally experienced, which almost always traces back to childhood. However, this transit can give you the courage and strength to identify the “real you” inside and stop negotiating with the wounded aspects.

    • This decision will liberate you and empower you to step into your light fully, which will cascade out into so many areas of your life. By standing in your own strength—and the knowledge that you are perfectly fine on your own—you will take charge of your trajectory, which will increasingly move upward.

    • I fully expect so many people to step away from toxic or co-dependent situations that were keeping them down. In fact, this transit could even birth a whole new generation of healers! This is because, in true Aries fashion, the personal healing journey can motivate people to go out and heal others courageously. I expect more and more people to launch their own healing practices and businesses at this time (since Aries has an entrepreneurial energy).

    • Even if that’s not on your agenda, take this time to dig into your core wounds and allow your higher self to step in and expose how the shadow self may have been manipulating you this whole time into making decisions that further weaken you! You’ll feel so much relief once you stop participating in this game.

    • And as you begin rebuilding a strong sense of self-worth, you’ll notice it’s much easier to let go of toxic people from your life. The truth is, some people have likely been leeching off of your insecurities, but once you refuse to cater to them and you set boundaries, those energy vampires will slowly vanish and people who are much better aligned will appear.

    • P.S. keep in mind that this journey is ultimately ongoing until the Solar Eclipse on April 8th. But if you put in the work now, that eclipse will be much smoother!

All that said, the impact will be made more specific based on your rising sign, which I outline below. I would also encourage you to refer to your sun & moon signs, too as secondary messages.
