Where the hell is 2025 going? Nobody really knows, but the Leo Full Moon on February 12 will definitely serve as yet another wild card. (I know, this wasn’t on your 2025 bingo card). Yes, 2025 can still catapult you towards your dream life and the contributing changes can truly happen overnight — but the first third of the year is messier than the following two thirds (as I outlined in my 2025 Horoscope videos). That means minimizing uncertainty and snatching opportunity out of the jaws of chaos will be key for you through late April.

And it starts with catching the ideal wave on this full moon. The Leo Full Moon is a follow-up to the promising Aquarius New Moon we experienced on January 29. That new moon underscored opportunities in communication, social activities, media projects and technology. The Full Moon occurs at 5:53am Pacific. Time on Wednesday, February 12th and is locked into a dynamic T-Square with Uranus, the planet of shocks, awakenings and uprisings. Uranus’ power is amplified by the fact that it recently stationed direct (began moving forward in the sky from our vantage point), as did Jupiter, the planet of abundance and largesse.

With both of these planets switching direction in the past week, the scale of unexpected events in the world is borderline unprecedented, and we’ve seen that in the news cycle — plane crashes, mega storms, sudden firings of governmental officials, last-minute motions by judges to block those firings, strikes, protests shutting down 101 in LA, etc.

The Leo Full Moon marks a peak of this energy, and in our personal lives we can expect some randomness and out-of-the-blue shakeups. Therefore, this is a particularly important full moon guide because it can help you create a buffer against complete chaos and even transmute it into a positive accelerant. When Uranus is involved, it’s better to have a plan than not.

With Mars in Cancer square Chiron in Aries, it’s important to avoid bitter feelings, anger and especially feelings of self-pity — stay in a place of gratitude and that will make any unexpected changes all the easier to manage!

Symbolism of the Full Moon

• Full Moons signify the climax of a lunation cycle (which is approximately 29.5 days long) and happen at the midpoint of the cycle when the Sun is exactly opposite the Moon.

• This means that the Moon naturally rises in the East as the Sun sets in the West, and the Moon has reached its brightest and fullest form in the cycle because it is receiving the Sun’s light head-on.

• The consensus among intuitives is that Full Moons are best used to release what no longer serves you and to bring whatever you manifested on the New Moon to a completion.

• However, based on my research, the Full Moon can also serve simply to illuminate or shed light on something in your life, compelling you to either change course or take “inspired action” (taking a bold step in the moment based on your heightened intuition). These course changes can in some ways mark a new beginning (also because every ending is a beginning in some sense).

• There is a waning hemi-cycle of the lunation cycle when the moon becomes a Waning Gibbous, Last-Quarter, Waning Crescent and then a Balsamic Moon. As the moon wanes, we are ideally refining what we brought to completion upon the full moon. After the Last-Quarter Moon we are beginning to rest and prepare for a new cycle.

  • This means we are still taking action in some way during the second half of the cycle, but we are ideally perfecting something that has already manifested.

• To summarize, the Full Moon is first & foremost an opportunity to release and let go, but we can still harvest the cream of the crop so to speak from the waxing hemi-cycle and refine it further in the days thereafter. A Full Moon is also a time when energy is more potent and can therefore help us catalyze powerful change in our lives, or it can support profound revelations.

• This full moon in particular will light up the Leo-ruled House of your Birth Chart as well as any Fixed Sign [Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius] placements you have between 20 and 29 degrees.

• It marks the conclusion of something you started on January 29, 2025 as well as something that began August 4, 2024.
